There are a couple of sliders for fine adjustments, but in this example, they were not needed. Frankly, Topaz Mask AI could not compete there. Trying the same image with a beta copy of the upcoming Luminar 4 sky replacement was literally one click. The contrast mode is quicker, but picks up simpler objects for masking. I found AI mode works best with hair, trees, fur, and detailed objects. Topaz Mask AI also offers a method besides AI, and that's a contrast mode for object detection. Still, the more I needed to refine the mask, the less AI benefit I was getting. I found the process easier than doing something similar in Photoshop, and in most cases, the AI helped. Once you “Update Mask,” you can see a split screen preview window: the left image will preview the colored mask, and the right-side one will show the mask effect on the image after the cut with a transparent background. When I made Mask AI larger, I was all set with no more hidden buttons. Turns out, working on my laptop, I had to scroll the screen to see the button, because it was cut off my the window edge. On many images, you need to help the selection along, painting in what to keep and what to cut.Ĭontrols are pretty straightforward, but it helps to watch a tutorial or two first. In fact, when I started using the app, I could not find the button that computed the mask. In the auto mode, which is where the AI part comes in, the app will take a look at your image and make some guesses about what to mask and what to cut. There is an auto-compute mode, or you can do more manually. When you are ready, you can replace the background. The interior of an object is defined in green, and you can use the paint bucket tool to quickly fill. Once that is done, there are tools to refine the mask. Then fill the areas to be cut in red, such as a sky in my case. Outline your subject or object edges in blue with a paintbrush. Topaz Mask AI presents a fairly simple interface (with a built-in tutorial). I wanted to look at it for sky masking/replacement since I'm primarily a landscape photographer. We've already had a good preliminary look at Topaz Mask AI from our own Ryan Mense. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sometimes it’s worth leaving the Mac during the night to finish the work it has started. Mechanics can use smartphones to capture voice memos, snap pictures, and record videos of the vehicle and store these files for use in future repairs. They offer a record of all previous evaluations when used in combination with the latest vehicle shop software, which can be helpful for upcoming and current inspections. The inspection process can be significantly accelerated by experts using modern digital equipment. There is a wide range of benefits offered by digital vehicle inspection, as mentioned below: ![]() What Advantages Does a Digital Vehicle Inspection offer? Therefore, it leads to a reduction in paper usage. The consumer can receive the digital car inspection as a text message or email once the technician is done. You can demonstrate to the customer what is wrong with their vehicle without escorting them to the back of the shop and endangering their safety. The camera creates a new level of transparency by enabling specialists to attach pictures or videos to inform customers of the precise problems with their cars. Also, doing inspections more quickly than with traditional methods like a pen and clipboard can be incredibly helpful. These days, technicians can enter full digital car inspection mode with the use of cameras and touch screens. Thanks to smartphones and tablets, this is all possible. Choosing digital vehicle inspections over paper ones that rely on software can be advantageous. The customer is then left to question the service representative about why the expert considered something “poor” or “needs work.”įor this reason, a digital vehicle inspection is used to meet demands and expectations. What ultimately happens is that many necessary repairs are neglected. They then provide the service adviser with this inspection paper to use in establishing the estimate. In the past, technicians would mark each component of the inspection as “good” or “bad” using a pen and paper. Based on the services they offer, every auto shop does have its own unique variations of examinations.Ī general auto repair business will mostly evaluate the belts, filters, fluids, and everything else under the hood, while an auto body repair business may check for scrapes, scratches, and breaks. Where it lacks in FPS mechanics, it makes up for with its addictive gameplay loop. Playing the game normally, if you manage to run completely dry on bullets and gadgets, you're left with just two options death or escape, with death usually preferable. Void Bastards is a fantastic roguelike with a stellar atmosphere and art style. Developers Blue Manchu are obviously listening to them, because they've just added a new super-high-end challenge mode to the game. According to some, who shall go unnamed, rogue-y FPS Void Bastards is too easy a game even if you crank its difficulty slider all the way up to the amusingly named 'Hard Bastard' mode. ![]() ![]() ![]() Your email service provider may alert you before you even know you’re blocklisted. By one estimate, email marketing software ranges from $0 to $20 a month for a small business, and up to $900 a month for a large business. Executing an email marketing campaign takes time and money. ![]() Pity the poor marketing manager who is unaware she is on an email blocklist. Constant Contact, often used by small businesses for email marketing, lists words and symbols like “free,” “sex,” “!!!” and “call now.” Low open rates, spam complaints from users and duplicate emails are just a few of the many other “fatal errors” cited. For example, Comcast’s list of dos and don’ts include adherence to technical standards and acceptable use policies, prompt execution of requests to unsubscribe, observation of sending limits, and maintenance of something the postmaster calls your “IP reputation.” That is, “If Comcast, or another reputable organization repeatedly receives spam, spyware or other malicious attacks, phishing efforts or other deceptive emails from a certain IP address, Comcast is more likely to block future messages from that IP address.”Įven if your email is delivered, it might end up in individuals’ spam folders if it contains certain words. Spamhaus describes the main difference between legitimate email and spam this way: “All email sent unsolicited and in bulk is spam.” But it’s not that simple, since ISPs have additional restrictions. “Being listed on any reputable, widely used is likely to cause your email to be blocked not only by Comcast, but other ISPs as well,” says Comcast Ffinity’s “postmaster” website. ISPs consult several of these lists, as do big corporations, to filter unwanted email. ![]() The problem for companies, especially their marketing departments, is that their email marketing campaigns and newsletters sometimes fall short of industry standards or get corrupted by malware, landing their IP address or domain name on one or more blocklists. One of the leading blocklists, from the nonprofit Spamhaus, is said to protect over three billion mailboxes. Dozens of these lists are compiled and publicly posted by small organizations that specialize in tracking and “outing” spammers, and they provide an invaluable service. The Problem with Email BlocklistsĮmail blocklists are used by ISPs, email service providers and other organizations as one of their most basic tools for filtering out spam and malware before reaching inboxes. How humour, storytelling and world-building are important cornerstones to game design. There is the 5th title from that list, a title that showed me how creative and inventive an adventure could be. Titles that changed the way I looked at video games forever. The games that fit into this category for me are titles like Deus Ex, Half-Life 2, Knights of the Old Republic and Xcom. There have been precious few of these titles over the years and they are different for everyone. Games that whenever someone asks you what sort of things you like, they are the first titles to pop into your head. Games that will always be etched into your own personal gaming identity. Some games come into your life briefly, flitting away, forgotten as quickly as they arrived. That being said, this is probably the least effective way to use the weapon as the rocks likely don’t fly straight and have limited range so if you are going to master this weapon, live ammo is the way to go.Oddworld: Strangers Wrath HD – Still Odd After All These Years Switch Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need live ammo to fire the weapon as Stranger was seen shooting a rock at an outlaw in the opening cutscene. Live Ammo is also very easy to comeby in Oddworld so you shouldn’t have trouble keeping your ammo up. This makes the Steef Crossbow a relatively versatile weapon that is effective as both a lethal and non-lethal weapon. Most of the critters allow the crossbow to function like guns while others allow the user to lead targets into traps, stun them and wrap them up with web. As for the ammo, the Steef Crossbow does not fire standard bolts but rather tiny critters referred to by the people of Oddworld as Live Ammo. The weapon also features two rails, allowing the user to fire two types of ammo at once. As for the weapon’s function, it fires like a regular crossbow though unlike real world crossbows that need to be pulled back after each shot, the mechanics on the Steef Crossbow does that automatically, allowing for a greater rate of fire. Throughout Stranger’s Wrath, Stranger performed all kinds of incredible physical feats, all without the bow slowing him down. Not only that, but it does not seem to hinder the wearer in any way. The weapon is wrist mounted and can collapse in on itself when not in use. Most steel based crossbows tend to be on the heavy side but the Steef Crossbow appears to be anything but. ![]() |
